Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam places importance on developing multidimensional ties with Nigeria, regarding the country a prioritized partner of its investment in Africa, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue has said.

At a reception for Minister of Agriculture of Nigeria Audu Innocent Ogbeh in Hanoi on November 17, Hue spoke highly of Nigeria’s leading position in West Africa in particular and Africa in general and its contributions to peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

He said potential for bilateral cooperation remains vast, suggesting the two countries to elevate their relations, step up the exchange of visits at all levels, and seek specific joint projects to fully tap their potential.

Vietnam is very keen on developing bilateral trade ties and encourages the two countries’ businesspeople to invest in telecommunication, information technology, and especially agriculture, he said.

He stressed the need for both countries to create a favourable business environment to attract their businesspeople to pour their money into sectors of the respective country’s strength.

Minister Audu Innocent Ogbeh said he is impressed with Vietnam’s socio-economic development achievements attained under the Party’s leadership and the Government’s drastic steering.

He said his visit aimed to seek increased cooperation with Vietnam in agriculture, hoping Vietnam will transfer farming machineries and plant varieties to his country.

He also sought cooperation opportunities with Vietnam in trade and education.

The Nigerian Government welcomes and provides all possible conditions for Vietnamese businesspeople to come to seek long-term investment and business in Nigeria, the minister underlined.-VNA
