Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received the World Bank (WB) Vietnam Country Director Victoria Kwakwa in Hanoi on March 14 to discuss a workshop on the development of the central coastal region slated to take place in May.
The host said the Government of Vietnam always counts the WB as a reliable partner who has assisted the country in infrastructure and poverty eradication through policy consultation and resources.
Both sides shared the view that the workshop will focus on opportunities and challenges faced by the region, and the possibility of bilateral cooperation set under the master plan for the development of the north-central and central coastal regions until 2020.
The event will specify strategies and development priorities for the central coastal region, as well as the level of WB support in strengthening the fight against climate change and lacklustre infrastructure.
Kwakwa noted that the WB stands side by side with Vietnam to realise its socio-economic development goals.-VNA
