– Vietnam welcomes all actions that make active contributions to peace and stability in the region.

Foreign Ministry Deputy Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang was presenting Vietnam’s viewpoint on Singapore’s agreement to host a deployment of US spy planes at a regular press conference in Hanoi on December 10.

“Maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea is the interest and responsibility shared by all countries in and out of the region. All actions contributing actively to regional peace and stability are welcomed,” Hang said.

According to Singapore’s daily newspaper The Strait Times, Singapore allowed the US to deploy the P-8 Poseidon spy planes in the country for the first time to boost bilateral military cooperation in a broad range of areas, including cyber-defence and bio-security.-VNA
