A delegation from the Lao Committee for Peace and Solidarity led by its President Khamphan Ximalavong is paying a working visit to Vietnam between September 9 and 13 at the invitation of the Vietnam Peace Committee.

At the reception for the delegation on September 10 in Hanoi, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations Don Tuan Phong emphasised that the union always supports and creates all favourable conditions for the two committees to cooperate, contributing to enhancing the traditional fraternal relationship between the two countries.

The union is willing to share its experience in mobilising foreign non-governmental aid to help Laos in its poverty reduction and socio-economic development.

For his part, President Khamphan Ximalavong expressed his pleasure at the growing relationship between the two committees, stating it helps nurture the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

He said he hoped the two agencies will continue to cooperate at international and regional forums in parallel with attracting external resources to contribute to each side’s national development.-VNA
