Vietnam added a fourth gold medal after its men’s pentanque team won in the triple event at the Asian Beach Games in Thailand.

The team beat Malaysia, 13-9, in the final match. Thailand and Laos shared the bronze medal.

Earlier, the women’s petanque team won the silver medal after losing to the hosts, 3-13.

In football, Vietnam lost, 2-7, in their semi-final match on November 20. They are due to face the United Arab Emirates in the game for third place on November 21 while Japan face Iran in the championship game.

In volleyball, the duo of Nguyen Van Thanh Thuyen and Vo Thanh Nhan beat the duo of Fernandes Xavier Gaudencio Duarte and Correia Adriano Da Ressureicao of East Timor, 21-16, 21-14, in a Pool C preliminary match.

Nguyen Trong Quoc and Nguyen Thanh Vinh came from behind to defeat Hammad Mohamed and Almohen Sadiq of Bahrain, 19-21, 21-15, 15-12, in the pool B match.

In the women’s Pool C, Nguyen Thi Thanh Tram and Pham Le Tuyet Ngan won against Batuwangala Acharige Shanika and Kollure Appuhamilage Thakshila of Sri Lanka, 21-17, 21-10.-VNA
