Vietnam have trounced Hong Kong 3-1 in an international friendly match held at Hai Phong City's Lach Tray Stadium.

Hai Anh scored two goals, Le Cong Vinh followed up later with a third goal and Wai Ho netted another goal from penalty for the hosts at the 58th minute of the September 6 game.

It was the national team's second victory under coach Toshiya Miura. The first was a 6-0 shutout of Myanmar in Binh Duong province last July.

Vietnam will compete in 10 other matches until November. Its friendly tour is one of the preparations it is undertaking for the ASEAN Football Federation Suzuki Cup, which will be held in the next two months.-VNA
