Hanoi (VNA) – Tran Nguyen Ba Phuoc grabbed a bronze medal for the Vietnamese team at the 44th WorldSkills Competition 2017 in IT Software Solutions for Business.

The Vietnamese team also came home with five Medallions of Excellence in several skills, including mechanical engineering design – CAD, programming, bricklaying, electrical installations, programming, and cooking.

The 44th WorldSkills Competition took place in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates from October 8 to 20 featuring 1,250 competitors from 58 countries and territories worldwide, including 13 Vietnamese ones.

They competed in 51 occupations, including 49 official occupations and two performance skills during the event. The Vietnamese team participated in 12 occupations, including CNC milling, programming, IT Software Solutions for Business, mechanical engineering design – CAD, bricklaying, electrical installations, and cooking.

This is the fifth time Vietnam has participated in the competition. The country also earned a bronze medal and eight medallions of excellence at the 43rd WSC in 2015.-VNA
