Vietnam has won four Certificates of Excellence at the 40th World Skills Competition held in Calgary, Canada.

The Vietnamese winners were Chu Tien Dung with 520 points in information technology/software applications skill, Hoang Duc Long with 518 points in electronics, Le Minh Bang and Nguyen Van Hoa with 514 points in mechatronics, and Dao Duy Khanh with 513 points in cooking.

Vietnam also competed in web design, electrical installations, joinery, restaurant service, and refrigeration at the World Skills Calgary 2009.

During the four-day competition that ended on Sept. 6, the Republic of Korea (RoK) competitors took the lead with 11 golds, five silvers and six bronzes, followed by Japan with six golds, three silvers and four bronzes.

The competition drew more than 900 contestants from 51 countries and territories competing in 45 skills. The 41st contest will be held in London, the UK  in 2011.
