Vietnam won four gold, three silver and three bronze medals at the Southeast Asian Gymnastics Championships 2009 that has wrapped up in Bangkok, Thailand.

On the last day of the competition, Oct. 8, Hau Trung Linh took one gold in the men’s vault event while his team-mate Phuoc Hung carried off another in the men’s parallel bars event.

Earlier, the Vietnamese men’s team, comprised of Phuoc Hung, Ha Thanh, Hoang Cuong, Anh Tuan, Trung Linh and Minh Sang, had a perfect performance to grab a gold medal for the team event.

Phan Thi Ha Thanh, won a gold in the women’s individual all-around performance, which consists of the balance beam, parallel bars, floor exercises and vault, and a silver in the women’s balance beam.

Two other silvers were carried off in the men’s individual all-around performance and high bar event.

Phuoc Hung also took two bronzes in the men’s floor exercises and still rings while his team-mate Anh Tuan took one bronze in the men’s pommel horse.

The fifth championship drew gymnasts from Indonesia , Malaysia , the Philippines , Vietnam and the host country./.
