All four students of the Vietnamese team have won medals at the 44 th International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), held in the US from July 21-30.
Pham Dang Huy from Hai Phong won a gold medal while Nguyen Van Phuong and Nguyen Viet Hoang from Hanoi were awarded silver ones. Tran Thi Mai Huong from Nam Dinh, the unique female member of the Vietnamese team, bagged a bronze medal.
This achievement is very meaningful as in the previous contests, Vietnamese students did not win any gold, said Do Quy Son, a Doctor of Chemistry and Vietnam ’s team leader.-VNA
