Vietnam wins silvers at Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad

All six Vietnamese students have won silvers at the 2014 Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad, the Ministry of Education and Training announced on May 18.
All six Vietnamese students have won silvers at the 2014 Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad, the Ministry of Education and Training announced on May 18.

Of the medallist, four are from the University of Natural Science’s High School for Gifted Students under the Vietnam National University-Hanoi. They are Do Xuan Viet and Ngo Hoang Anh Phuc, both 12th grader, and Do Ngoc Khanh and Nguyen Viet Dung, 11th grader.

Others are Nguyen Phan Quang Minh, 12th grader at the Nguyen Trai High School in northern Hai Duong province, and Tran Trong Dat, 12th grader the Hanoi Amsterdam High School .

The online competition was hosted by Kazakhstan, drawing students from 29 countries, competing at contest sites within their own countries.

Last year, Vietnam won one gold, one silver and three bronzes at the event hosted by Singapore.-VNA
