Vietnam wants to promote cooperation with Australia to further deepen the relations between the two countries.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung stated this at a meeting with the new Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, Hugh Borrowman, in Hanoi on Sept. 17.

Dung highlighted the positive development in multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Australia , saying that he believes the relations will be developed to a higher level in the future.

He also expressed his hope that the ambassador will work closely with Vietnamese authorities to implement effectively agreements signed by the two countries’ senior leaders.

The Prime Minister also called on the Australia Government to support the building of a strong ASEAN community in the future as well as ASEAN members’ common stance on the East Sea issues.

For his part, Borrowman affirmed he will make every effort to promote cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of investment, trade, agriculture, education and defence.-VNA
