Can Tho (VNA) – The Vietnam Gynaecology and Obstetrics Association and Can Tho Gynaecology and Obstetrics Hospital held the third conference in the field with nearly 500 leading professors and doctors taking part.

The association reported that despite progresses in health care and treatment, there remains gap in mortality among children below one month old in regions. Therefore, the conference aims to update skills of medical staff and prevent complications during pregnancy.

Participants delivered 34 reports on breast cancer treatment, pre-birth screening, pregnancy among old women, menopause, breastfeeding, blood disorder during pregnancy, among others.

Nguyen Huu Du, Director of Can Tho Gynaecology and Obstetrics Hospital, said the annual event enables leading doctors, scientists and experts to meet and share experience in reproductive health care, contributing to building a growing network.-VNA
