Vietnam finished the sixth CISM Military World Games, which closed in the Republic of Korea on October 11, capturing one gold, one silver, two bronze medals and setting a new record.

In the final day of competition on October 10, swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien pocketed a silver medal in the women's 800m freestyle event.

Earlier, she earned a gold medal and set a new record in the 200m individual medley, after earning a bronze in the 200m backstroke.

The other bronze went to the women's volleyball team, which defeated the Venezuela squad in the third-place play-off match on October 10.

The win placed Vietnam in 31st position in the overall medal tally.

The International Military Sports Council (CISM) Military World Games 2015 was held in Mungyeong, the Republic of Korea from October 2 under the slogan of "Friendship Together, Peace Forever".

It is an event that is based on the CISM and Olympic spirit, without political, religious and racial consideration. Furthermore it must be organised in a dignified manner.-VNA
