The Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisations (HUFO) and the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association-HCM City chapter held a meeting marking the 65th anniversary of Vietnam-Bulgaria diplomatic ties on March 7.

Speaking at the event, HUFO Chairman Le Hung Quoc highlighted the traditional relations between the two nations, adding that Vietnamese people always remember and appreciate valuable support from the Bulgarian Government in the past struggle for liberation and the current nation-building efforts.

Bulgaria has trained thousands of officials, experts, and skilled workers for Vietnam, he recalled.

Oleg Marinov, Head of the Bulgaria Commercial and Economic Office in HCM City, said despite geographical distance, the two nations have nurtured their traditional friendship as well as efficient cooperation over the past 65 years.

He underscored that the Vietnamese people, who studied and worked in Bulgaria, are playing a crucial role in fostering the bilateral relations.

Over the past few years, the two countries have exchanged many high-ranking delegations and signed numerous cooperation agreements, laying down a foundation for their long lasting, sustainable connections.
