The Vietnamese squad will convene for a training session in Hanoi on January 13. Thirty players were called up by head coach Park Hang-seo to prepare for remaining games of the Asian qualifiers final round.

Vietnam are to play an away match with the hosts Australia on January 27.

They remained at the bottom of the group after losing all six matches. This is the first time that Vietnam has played in the final qualifying round. They are in Group B with Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia, China and Oman./.
