Vietnam will send trainees to Japan’s Ibaraki prefecture to join agricultural courses in the near future.
An agreement on the cooperation was signed between representatives from the Overseas Labour Management Department under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) and Ibaraki’s Agriculture Association at a ceremony held on May 15.
MoLISA Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hoa and Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Doan Xuan Hung represented Vietnam at the event, while Ibaraki prefecture province’s Governor Hasimoto Masaru was in attendance.
This is the first time Vietnam has worked with the Japanese province in developing human resources in agriculture, a move which is expected to help improve the quality of Vietnam’s workforce, thus promoting socio-economic development for both sides and cultural exchange and mutual understanding between their people.
During their stay in Japan, Deputy Minister Hoa and Ambassador Hung also held talks with Hasimoto.
The host said there is a great potential for fostering partnership between Vietnam and Ibaraki prefecture in the field, as Ibaraki is Japan’s second largest agriculture-based locality.
He stressed that the signing helps concretise cooperation agreements reached between the two sides in President Truong Tan Sang’s visit to the prefecture last March.
