Audiences in Hanoi will have an opportunity to see two nights of sized specific contemporary dance performances staged by Vietnamese and British artists on October 17 and 18, according to the British Council.

The +84 Contemporary Dance Group, including three young choreographers Nguyen Anh Duc, Do Van Hien and Do Hoang Thi Ngoc, will join British artist Kwesi Johnson of Kompany Malakhi Troupe to perform a play entitled “Huhmmm...”.

The play is an exploration of the past, present and future of the two groups who come from two very different cultures, two art styles and languages. It is also a journey where they learn to share and respect each other’s disparities to coexist in an environment.

Through the free-of-charge programme, the artists would like to remind people about history, wars and losses and above all, a removal of dark conrners in each soul in order to live together in a peaceful world.

The dance performance is part of the British Council’s artistic regional programme entitled “Inclusive Cities” which aims at celebrating and giving voice to the communities of the cities of East Asia , China and the UK through performances, workshops and collaborative projects./.
