A Vietnamese professor has become the first recipient of the Constantin Caratheodory Prize of the International Society of Global Optimization.
Prof. Hoang Tuy was honoured with the award for his pioneering work and fundamental contributions to Global Optimization.
The prize named after mathematician Constantin Caratheodory, is awarded biannually to an individual or a group for outstanding work to theory, algorithms, and applications of global optimization that reflects contributions that have stood the test of time.
The criteria include scientific excellence, innovation, significance, depth, and impact.
Prof. Tuy said he had received an invitation to attend the awards ceremony in Chania, Greece, but he could not join the event due to his health problem./.
