Two seminars with the aim of introducing business environment in Vietnam and advantages and potential of the Mekong Delta province of An Giang were held in Hong Kong , on March 21.
President of the Hong Kong Business Association Vietnam (HKBAV) Winnie Lam, who spent many years doing business in Vietnam , affirmed that Vietnam has major advantages to attract foreign investment in general and from Hong Kong in particular. They are stable politics, competitive labour price and safe society.
Besides, Vietnam is also a potential market with a population of nearly 90 million people and increasing per capita income, she added.
According to Pham Van Cong, Commercial Counsellor of Vietnam to Hong Kong said Hong Kong investors’ potential are great.
In 2011, Hong Kong rose to the top place among countries and territories investing in Vietnam .
Meanwhile the Vietnam Trade Office in Hong Kong is making efforts to foster investment and trade between the two sides through organising talks, seminars to introduce Vietnam ’s business environment and arranging for Hong Kong’s businesses to visit Vietnam .
According to the HKBAV, Hong Kong had 49 projects licenced in Vietnam worth nearly 3 billion USD, accounting for 26 percent of the total foreign direct investment capital in the country in 2011.-VNA
