A large number of Vietnamese businesses operating in Laos have spoke highly of the country’s prospects for investment.
The businesses made their comments at a Feb. 26 meeting with Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang in Vientiane , who is on a visit to Laos to attend the 17th unofficial ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Meeting (AEM) and the Ministerial Meeting between Vietnam , Laos , Cambodia and Myanmar (CLVM) from Feb. 25-28.
They include Viet-Lao Electricity Joint Stock Company, Star Telecom-Viettel, Vinacomin Laos, PetrolVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP), Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group and Lao-Viet Joint Venture Bank, which registered large capital in the fields of in energy, banking, insurance, telecommunications, trade services and urban development in the neighbouring country.
Over the past time, the number of Vietnam ’s projects in Laos has increased rapidly, reaching over 200 with a total investment capital of 2.4 billion USD. They have actively contributed to Lao infrastructure development and boosting the two countries’ relations./.
