Almost 30 businesses from Vietnam attended Intrade Malaysia 2009 in Kuala Lumpur, which wrapped up on Nov.12, to seek more contracts from its top ten importer.

At the three-day event, Vietnamese businesses sought contracts in a large number of industries, ranging from general trade to construction and building materials, foods and foodstuffs, drinks, tourism, information technology, design consultation, machinery and industrial equipment.

This year saw the largest number of Vietnamese businesses in the past five years take part in this annual event in Malaysia.

The fair director Susila Devi told the Vietnam News Agency that the annual presence of Vietnamese businesses has contributed considerably to the success of the event, which witnessed over 8,000 transactions this year.

Malaysia is one of Vietnam’s top ten importers world-wide and ranks third in Southeast Asia, following Thailand and Singapore. It is also Vietnam’s third largest foreign investor with chartered capital surpassing 18 billion USD, after Taiwan and the Republic of Korea./.
