A Vietnamese cuisine week is being held at the Grand Melia Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia from June 5-11, introducing such Vietnamese typical dishes including spring rolls, noodle soup (pho) with beef and chicken and grilled fish.

Three cooks have been invited from Melia Hanoi to join the world-renown chef Bobby Chin in preparing for the event.

The opening day attracted about 400 guests, including diplomats and businesses.

At present, some Vietnamese dishes, especially “pho,” have become popular in Jakarta. The city boasts several Vietnamese restaurants, such as Pho Hoa, Pho 2000, Pho 24, Vietopia, My Hanoi House and Vietnam Valley.
