Vietnamese cuisines favoured by ASEAN friends in Malaysia

Vietnam’s special cultural identities, landscape and cuisines were introduced to friends in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) at an event in Malaysia on May 27.

Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Vietnam’s special culturalidentities, landscape and cuisines were introduced to friends in theAssociation of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) at an event in Malaysia on May27.

The event took place within a meeting of wives of officials andfemale staff of the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the ASEANLadies Circle (ALC) in the country, aiming to contributing to enhancing thefriendship and solidarity within the bloc.

Khuat Thi Hong Hanh, spouse of Vietnamese AmbassadorTran Viet Thai and head of the ALC Vietnam, spoke highly of solidarity and mutualsupport of the ALC amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ALC Vietnam brought to the event Vietnamesedishes such as pho bo (beef noodle soup) and nem (spring rolls), which receivedwarm response and compliments from regional friends.

Short films featuring the history, culture and touristdestinations in Vietnam were also screened on this occasion./.

Vietnam, Laos ink 2026–2030 culture-tourism cooperation plan

Both sides pointed to substantive, positive outcomes in cultural and tourism cooperation from 2021-2025, citing successful cultural weeks in each country, cultural and art activities marking important occasions of the two Parties and countries, and the effective delivery of agreements reached by leaders that further fostered the special Vietnam–Laos relationship.
