Thousands of people in Cambodia’s poor district of Russey Keo have been provided with free medical check-ups and treatment from Vietnamese doctors during a ten-day programme.

The programme was carried out under a proposal made by the General Secretary of the Cambodian Senate to the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations.

Accordingly, from June 2-11, ten experienced Vietnamese doctors from the Thai Binh Medical University treated and provided ultrasound scans for nearly 6,000 Cambodians in Russey Keo.

The programme was highly valued by the Vice General Secretary of the Cambodian Senate and the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia, reflecting the solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the two countries in the health sector.

On the occasion, the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association also presented gifts to locals worth 50 million VND.-VNA
