Vietnamese embassies celebrate Tet

Vietnamese ambassador Nguyen Phu Binh expressed his thanks to foreign friends, especially those from Japan , for their assistance to Vietnam during times of trouble.

The ambassador added that he hoped for further support from Japan and other international friends in 2010 so that Vietnam might attain better socio-economic achievements and fulfill its role as ASEAN chairman.

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Akamatsu Hirotaka said that since the signing of the Vietnam and Japan investment encouragement and protection agreement in 2004 and the effectiveness of their bilateral economic partnership in 2009, trade, economy and investment ties between the two countries have developed strongly.

He also expressed the hope that cooperation in all sectors, especially in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, will further develop.

Chairman of the Japanese Communist Party Shii Kazuo extended his congratulations to Vietnamese leaders on the occasion the 80th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, expressing the hope for steadily improving relations between the two parties in the future.

The same day, nearly 200 overseas Vietnamese in Algeria gathered at a meeting hosted by the Vietnamese Embassy.

Ambassador Do Trong Cuong said he hoped that the Vietnamese community in Algeria would make further contributions to nation building and development as well as increasing friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Vietnamese Ambassador to France Le Kinh Tai, at a meeting for Tet in Paris on Feb. 10, expressed his hope that in 2010 the association of the Vietnamese people in France will successfully organise its congress to contribute to national construction and act as a bridge to increase the Vietnam-France relations and friendship./.
