– The Embassy of Vietnam in Cambodia along with Vietnamese representative offices, overseas Vietnamese businesses and students laid wreaths and offered incense at the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Monument in Phnom Penh on December 21.

The event aims to commemorate Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts, as well as patriotic Cambodians who sacrificed their lives for the cause of Cambodia’s liberation and helped Cambodian people escape from the genocidal Khmer Rouge regime, contributing to Cambodia’s revival and development.

It’s also meant to celebrate the 73rd founding anniversary of Vietnam People’s Army (December 22, 1944), the 28th anniversary of Vietnam All-People’s Defence Day (December 22, 1989) and the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic relations (June 24, 1967).

In recent days, many Vietnamese and Cambodian delegations visited the Vietnamese Defence Attaché Office in Cambodia to offer congratulation on the anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and Vietnam’s All-People’s Defence Day.

As scheduled, the attaché office will hold a banquet to mark the occasions on December 22.-VNA
