The Vietnamese Embassy in the UK on April 29 received 70 Vietnamese documentary films for public screenings in the European country from Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son.
Ambassador Vu Quang Minh declared that the documentaries will be shown to the overseas Vietnamese community and UK residents to make them fully understand Vietnam’s traditional culture and the policies of its Party and State.
The English-subtitled films focus on numerous topics ranging from the Vietnam-UK strategic partnership, Vietnam’s sea and islands, the country’s Government and National Assembly, its integration and development to Vietnamese traditional trade villages, festivals and cuisine.
Speaking at the ceremony to present these films to the embassy, Minister Son said that Vietnam considers the overseas Vietnamese community as an integral part of the country.
He expressed his hope that those in the UK will continue supporting each other and maintaining the country’s traditional culture.
On this occasion, he also presented photos of Vietnamese landscapes taken by himself to the Vietnamese Embassy, the Vietnamese Association and the Vietnamese Students’ Association in the UK.-VNA
