Vietnamese firm allowed to conduct mining in Laos

The Vietnam-Laos general trading joint stock company received an investment licenc to conduct mining in Laos on Dec. 1.

The company, together with the newly-licensed one, Buddha Vientiane, will explore a 300 sq.km copper mine in Kasy and Vangvieng districts, Vientiane province.

This is a large-scale project worth 31 million USD with a duration of 30 years.

General Director of the Vietnam-Laos joint stock company Nguyen Tat Lac said the company has completed several infrastructural facilities, including roads and electricity grid to some villages./.
