A Vietnamese business delegation led by Ambassador Bui Dinh Dinh visited Russia ’s Kursk province from June 19-21 to study business opportunities.

At a meeting with leaders of Kursk province, Ambassador Dinh suggested the local authorities create favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community to do business and have a stable life in the province.

He took the occasion to invite the provincial leaders and businesses to visit and study opportunities in Vietnam .

Kursk province’s leaders appreciated the Vietnamese delegation’s visit, considering it a good start for expanding the direct cooperation between Vietnamese and Russian localities and businesses.

Vietnam should increase rice, rubber and seafood exports to Russia in general and to Kursk province in particular, they said, adding that in 2008, Kursk province exported 23 million USD worth of goods to Vietnam while Vietnamese goods are yet to reach the province’s potential market.

The Vietnamese delegation, including representatives of seven companies, also brought their products such as handicrafts, seafood and tea to an international fair in Kursk./.
