Vietnamese General greets Cuban guest

Hanoi (VNA) - General Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and Deputy Minister of National Defence hosted a reception in Hanoi on December 17 for visiting Air Defence Commander Major General Tomas Valdes Hernandez from Cuba’s Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (MINFAR).

The Vietnamese officer thanked Cuban people for their assistance provided for Vietnamese peers in their past struggle for independence and the current national construction.

He voiced that the relations between the VPA and Cuba’s Revolutionary Armed Forces recorded new developments and t he two sides have maintained exchange of delegations at all levels.

For his part, Tomas showed his joy at Vietnam’s strong development, saying that he believes the affiliation between Cuba and Vietnam and their armies will be stronger in the coming time.-VNA
