The Vietnamese female football team on Dec. 16 beat their Thai rivals in a penalty shoot-out, ended in 3-0, taking the gold medal of the sport at the 25th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 25) being held in Laos.

The two teams made no score both in the first 90 minutes and in the 30-minute extra time.

At first in the penalty shoot-out, the Thai captain fired over the bar-netting, then the Vietnamese goal keeper hindered once. Finally, another kick by a Thai player was not successful.

On Dec. 16, Vietnam scooped 16 more gold medals equal to Thailand , but ranked second after the latter due to the number of silver and bronze medals.

Three gold medals were bagged in fin-swimming and two in shuttle cock.

Judo also brought three gold medals for Vietnam./.
