The Vietnamese women’s chess team is currently ranked 29 th after beating their UK rivals in the ninth round of the 39 th World Chess Olympics, which takes place in the Siberian city of Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia from September 19-October 4.

After competing for six hours, the Vietnamese girls defeated their UK opponents with a score of 2.5:1.5, keeping their winning streak going for four consecutive rounds.

The UK women’s team is now placed 31 st in the tournament.

After the competition, the head coach for the Vietnamese women, Mikhail Vasyliev, said that this was a very intense round, during which Vietnamese players Pham Le Thao Nguyen and Nguyen Thi Thanh An demonstrated a lot of patience and won an important victory.

Meanwhile, the men’s five-hour competition between Vietnam and Kazakhstan was drawn 2:2. The Vietnamese men took ten points from eight rounds and currently stand 30th .

Kazakhstan ’s men’s team is now ranked 36 th./.
