Vietnamese hydroelectricity expert wins French Order
Dr. Thai Phung Ne, a leading Vietnamese hydroelectricity expert, has
been awarded France’s Legion of Honour Order for his great contributions
to boosting Vietnam-France cooperation, especially in the field of
energy.

French Ambassador to Vietnam Jean Noel Poirier presented the most renowned award of the French Government to the expert in Hanoi on November 16.
Ne, former Minister of Energy and the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy on Hydroelectricity, is now advisor to Electricity of Vietnam (EVN). His career is closely connected with the development of major hydropower plant projects such as Thac Ba, Hoa Binh and Son La.
On the occasion, the French Ambassador also presented the Medal of Merit, conferred by the French President, to former State Treasury General Director Nguyen Thi Nhon.-VNA
