The Sri Lanka-Vietnam Friendship Foundation on Feb. 18 handed over gifts from the Vietnamese community in Sri Lanka to victims of Agent Orange (AO).

At his meeting with the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin (VAVA) in Hanoi, the foundation’s Vice Chairman Dr. R.A Chandrasena said Vietnamese living in Sri Lanka always think of their fatherland and wish to share difficulties with their fellow citizens.

According to the Vice Chairman, the foundation regularly organises activities to garner support for the struggle for justice for AO victims and raise donations for Vietnam to overcome war consequences.

On behalf of more than three million AO victims in Vietnam, VAVA President Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Rinh expressed his thanks to the Vietnamese community, the Vietnamese Embassy in Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka-Vietnam Friendship Foundation for their support. -VNA
