Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam won its second gold at the first World Youth Martial Arts Masterships, which closed in Jincheon-County, Chungcheongbuk-do province, the Republic of Korea (RoK), on November 7.

Vietnamese athletes competed only in the kurash competition.

They pocketed one gold, one silver and one bronze in kurash on the last day of the five-day competition.

Do Thu Ha triumphed in the women’s U52kg category after beating Yeh Lian of Chinese Taipei in the final match.

Her teammate, Nguyen Hai Ba, lost to Choi Intae of the hosts in the men’s U81kg event to take a silver.

Earlier, Nguyen Chau Hoang Lan shared the third place with Li Zhi-Yong of Chinese Taipei in the men’s over-90kg class.

On November 5, Vietnamese martial artists claimed a gold in the women’s over-70kg pool by Do Thi Hoai Uyen, a silver in the men’s U60kg by Le Cong Hoang Hai and two bronzes in the men’s U66kg and U73kg.

Vietnam finished ninth with two golds, two silvers and three bronzes.

The RoK took the top spot, winning 58 golds, followed by the Philippines and Nepal. -VNA
