The honorary Chairwoman of the ASEAN Women’s Circle in Hanoi and her counterpart at the Women’s Union of the Lao Foreign Ministry have agreed to speed up regional exchange activities among women in order to promote a dynamic, self-reliant and united ASEAN.

Chairing a talk in Hanoi, Nguyen Nguyet Nga, wife of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, and Naly Sisoulith, spouse of Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, suggested female officials of the two foreign ministries intensify coordination in 2016 just after the formation of the ASEAN Community and as Laos assumes the chairmanship of ASEAN.

Nga also welcomed the visit made by Naly Sisoulith, saying it contributed to the implementation of an agreement between the two ministries to nurture the Vietnam-Laos traditional friendship and special solidarity.

During her stay, Naly Sisoulith held meetings with female officials from the Foreign Ministry’s departments and the ASEAN Women’s Circle in Hanoi, during which she affirmed that the Lao Party, State and people continually highlight the importance of their bilateral relations.
