The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union have agreed to launch more activities to help deepen the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples.

A memorandum of understanding to this effect was signed at a March 28-30 conference in Nha Trang city, the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa , which gathered young people from the two countries’ border and twin provinces.

The two sides also agreed to encourage and create conditions for provincial and municipal youth unions, especially those of border provinces, to foster their direct cooperation while taking part in the protection of their border line.

The conference praised outcomes of cooperation between the two countries’ young people during the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2012.

Last year, they engaged in a host of activities such as exchanging delegations, promoting cooperation in training youth union officials, organising voluntary programmes and building the Vietnam-Laos border youth friendship village.-VNA
