According to BBC and the World Record organization, a Vietnamese businessman has recently been confirmed as the owner of the world's most valuable whiskey collection.

The collection of Nguyen Dinh Tuan Viet (Viet Nguyen Dinh Tuan) is estimated to be worth nearly 10.8 million £ by valuation experts at Rare Whiskey 101 (RW101).

The Ho Chi Minh City businessmen's collection includes 535 bottles of whiskey and many of them are the rarest and finest Scotch and Japanese whisky in the world.

The above record has been confirmed by Guinness World Records.

The collection includes one of the only complete Macallan Fine and Rare collections in the world, including the iconic "Fine and Rare" in 1926. Only 40 bottles of Macallan 1926 were released. And Tuan Viet owns three bottles.

A bottle of Macallan 1926 sold recently for nearly £ 1.5 million, including the buyer's premium.

Mr. Viet's collection also includes one of the 12 oldest Bowmore bottles ever released. A similar bottle has sold at 300,000 £ in a recent auction.

Mr. Viet also owns one of the remaining 24 bottles of Springbank 1919 in the world.

Mr. Viet has collected rare whiskey bottles for over 20 years.

More than 500 bottles of rare whiskey have been safely locked in the whiskey room at home, and Mr. Viet said he will continue to build his collection.

He said: "For me, collecting whiskey is a passion of life. Whenever I have free time, I go to auctions and wine trading websites to find famous and rare whiskeys from all over the world. "

“This requires patience and I am proud of my efforts,” Viet said.

"For my collection, I have no intention of selling any of them. Not a single bottle. In fact, I will continue to hunt for older and rarer bottles to add and enrich the collection," said Tuan Viet.

RW101 arrived at the collection's valuation by determining what it could realistically be expected to fetch if sold at auction in the UK in the current market.

The valuation was then submitted to Guinness World Records to confirm the record of evidence.

Andy Simpson, co-founder of Rare Whiskey 101, said: "We were fascinated, not to mention a little envious, when we realized the width and depth of Mr. Tuan Viet's collection."

"It's a really great example of a 20-year-old passion and desire to find the best, rarest bottles of whiskey in the world for a person."
