A high-level delegation from the Ministry of National Defence, headed by Deputy Minister Sen. Lt. Gen Nguyen Huy Hieu, paid a working visit to Greece from April 12-14.
The visit was made at the invitation of the Greek Defence Ministry.
While there, the Vietnamese delegation held an exchange of views with Greek acting Defence Minister Panagiotis Beglitis and Chief of General Staff of the Greek Armed Forces General Loannis Giagkos.
The two sides discussed measures to boost bilateral cooperation in national defence.
The Vietnamese guests also held a working session with the General Staff, and visited the National Defence Academy and the Mine Clearance Battalion of Greece.
The Vietnamese side expressed the hope that the visit, the first of its kind so far, would contribute to boosting friendship and cooperation in national defence between the two countries, open up opportunities for cooperation in national defence technology, materials supply, mine clearance, overcoming the aftermath of war and other issues of mutual concern./.
