Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung held talks with his Mozambican counterpart Aires Bonifacio Baptista Ali in Hanoi on Sept. 3 after an official welcome ceremony to the guest.

PM Dung described the Vietnam visit by the high-level Mozambican delegation as evidence of the fine traditional political ties between the two countries, especially since the visit is taking place during the time of Vietnam ’s celebrations of the 65 th National Day and upcoming 1,000 th birthday of the capital city, along with the 35 th anniversary of Vietnam-Mozambique diplomatic ties.

He expressed thanks to the Mozambican people – and particularly PM Aires Bonifacio Baptista Ali – for their generous support to Vietnam .

The Vietnamese PM affirmed that Vietnam attached importance to the development of relations with traditional friends in Africa – including Mozambique – and was ready to share experiences in economic development, development of infrastructure, education and healthcare, as well as agriculture and poverty reduction.

PM Aires Bonifacio Baptista Ali praised the effectiveness of implementing cooperation projects and programmes on investment, trade, agriculture, health care and education between the two countries and expressed his hope of bringing economic relations closer together while strengthening political ties.

The two government leaders defined practical measures to boost cooperation in key areas and expand cooperation in areas of potential.

They agreed to promptly hold a meeting of the Inter-governmental Commission to examine cooperation results and work out a plan of action for the future.

On this occasion, the two PMs witnessed the signing ceremony of agreement on double taxation avoidance and fighting tax frauds between the two Finance Ministries./.
