Vietnam's Pham Huong surpassed other beautiful candidates from 20 countries and territories to claim first runner-up at the Miss World Sport 2014 on February 22.
Miss Bosnia and Herzegovina Delila Softic won the crown of the contest, which was held for the first time in Sochi by the Olympic Committee. The second-runner up was Marharyta Banet from Belarus.
Huong, who is 1.77m-tall, was born in 1991 and has graduated in marketing and sales from the University of Commerce.
The contestants were required to have great passion for sports and the capability of mastering a particular sport. They could be professional athletes or a member of their countrys Olympic team.
They also had to compete in different rounds involving wearing of sportswear, evening or party wear by world-class designers and dancing.
The contest drew participants from Armenia, Belarus, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Sweden, Russia, the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Latvia, Germany, Mongolia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Vietnam among others.-VNA
