Vientiane (VNA) - The Lao-Viet Joint Venture Bank has donated 50 million LAK (5,200 USD) to Vietnam's national COVID-19 vaccinefund.

The donations were handed over to the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos on June 21.

Nguyen Duc Vu, General Director of the Lao-Viet Joint VentureBank, said as a joint venture abroad, the bank is always aware of its responsibility towards the homeland. In response to PrimeMinister Pham Minh Chinh's appeal on the establishment of the COVID-19 vaccine fund, the bank's staff have made contributions to support the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

TrinhMinh Tam from the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos highly appreciated the gesture of the bank's staff, affirming the donation will be sent to the COVID-19vaccine fund soon.

As of June 21 afternoon, in Vientiane capital only, theVietnamese Embassy in Laos had received 329 million kip (nearly 25,000 USD) and 1,700USD to support the COVID-19 Prevention Fund and the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund./.
