Women’s singles category No 1 seed Nguyen Thuy Linh beat Nepalese player Sichhya Shrestha 21-6, 21-12 in the quarter-final match.
Linh will next face No 3 Aghaei Hajiagha Soraya of Iran.
Her teammate Tran Thi Phuong Thuy won 21-8, 21-7 over Nepal’s Megha Chand. Her next opponent is Indonesian Devi Yunita Indah Saru.
In the men’s singles, Le Duc Phat, No 7 seed, beat Tushar Krishna Roy from Bangladesh 21-10, 21-11 while his No 6 teammate Pham Cao Cuong trounced Mohammad Salman Khan of Bangladesh 21-8, 21-5.
Phat will next meet No 5 Siddharath Thakur while Cuong will play No 2 Abhishek Yelegar. Thakur and Yelegar are from India.
Only pair Dang Quang Huy and Nguyen Duc Giang were stopped after losing 11-21, 7-21 to No 2 duo Arjun Madathil Ramachandran and Ramchandran Shlok of India.-VNA
