The event was attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi and Director of the Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vu Ba Phu.
In his opening speech, Vu Ba Phu emphasised the need for closer cooperation and open markets, noting that economies and global businesses are facing challenging times due to geopolitical tensions. He stressed that minimising trade barriers and easing restrictions is essential to facilitate business and reduce burdens on Vietnamese exporters and importers.
Meanwhile, Dmitry Zavgorodniy, CEO of ITE Group, welcomed the participation of the Trade Promotion Agency and Vietnamese businesses at Worldfood Moscow 2024.
He noted that in just the first five months of 2024, bilateral trade between Vietnam and Russia increased by 51.4%, reaching 1.96 billion USD year-on-year. He expressed hope that Vietnamese businesses at the fair will further bolster economic cooperation and strengthen the friendship between the two nations.
Vietnam’s delegation to Worldfood Moscow 2024 included 50 businesses, showcasing products in a 250-square-meter space. The pavilion featured Vietnamese coffee, cinnamon, star anise, cashews, rice, rice-based products, food ingredients, pepper, and beverages.
