Various Vietnamese products were recently showcased at a promotional fair held at the international trade centre in Mexico City in a bid to popularise the domestic products.

Numerous businesses and thousands of customers in the host country visited and were exposed to Vietnamese brand names and import procedures for products displayed at the fair. Notably, 48 enterprises conducted surveys and ordered nine Vietnamese commodities including handbags, rucksacks, packaging, hats, souvenirs, watches, flowerpots, footwear and rice.

Trade Counsellor Hoang Tuan Viet from the Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico said this was a great chance for Vietnamese and Mexican enterprises to promote trade and inform customers of the two nations about each other’s culture and people.

Vietnam has enjoyed a trade surplus with Mexico for years. According to recent Mexican statistics, trade exchange between Vietnam and Mexico was estimated at 2.26 billion USD in 2014, up nearly 40 percent from the previous year.-VNA
