Senior officials of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Communist Party of Russian Federation (KPRF) re-upped the long-time relations between the two parties and the two countries as a whole at a meeting in Moscow on November 23.

The President of the KPRF Central Committee, Ghennady Ziuganov, told Truong Tan Sang, Poliburo member and Permanent Secretary of the CPV Central Committee (CPVCC), that the strategic partnership and traditional friendship between the two countries and parties would certainly continue to develop.

Sang, who is leading a senior CPV delegation on a visit to Russia, shared the view, emphasising that relations between the two communist parties have been constantly developing through regular exchanges of high-level delegations. He citied the visits earlier this year by Nguyen Van Chi, Politburo member and Director of the Inspection Commission of the CPVCC, and To Huy Rua, Politburo member, Secretary, and Director of the Information and Education Commission, of the CPVCC.

Host and guest shared with each other satisfaction with the recent growth of their respective parties.

The KPRF has won between 27 and 30 percent of the votes in a recent election to local administrative posts. The CPV has been successfully leading the nation in overcoming the negative impact of the global economic downturn and maintaining political stability, social security and improving the living conditions of the people.

The two parties are also in a rush of preparations for major celebrations. The KPRF is readying for the birthday of its founding leader, V. I. Lenin, next April and the victory of the Great Patriotic War next May. The CPV, also, is busy with preparations for its 11th Congress in early 2011./.
