A number of Vietnamese seafood businesses, especially in the Mekong Delta, are showcasing their products at the 2014 Fine Food Australia expo, which began on September 15 at Melbourne’s Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The move is expected to help Vietnamese firms increase their exports to new markets.

Lu Van Phe, a representative of the Ca Mau Seafood Processing and Service Joint Stock Company, said this was the fifth year his firm was presenting its products at the Fine Food Australia expo, with the objective of finding more partners and broadening the company’s sales network in the Australian market.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Hoang Nam, Deputy General Director of the Ca Mau Frozen Seafood Processing Import-Export Corporation, said the company had prepared for the event carefully with a view to promoting trade.

Organised annually since 1984, the fair is Australia’s largest food industry trade fair.

With over 1,000 pavilions, this year’s event is displaying culinary dishes, new food products and technological advances in the field.
