Vietnamese students’ association set up in Thailand

The Vietnamese Students’ Association in Thailand was set up at its first congress held in Bangkok in mid-December.

Bangkok(VNA) – The Vietnamese Students’ Association in Thailand was set up at itsfirst congress held in Bangkok in mid-December.  

Nguyen Dang HoaNghiem, a postgraduate student at Chulalongkorn University was elected asPresident of the association for the 2017-2019 tenure. The association is amember of the Vietnam Students’ Association.

Addressing the event,Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Nguyen Hai Bang lauded the dynamism and creativityof nearly 700 Vietnamese students in the Southeast Asian country.

The ambassador said hehopes the association will be a reliable destination for Vietnamese students tomeet, share experience and support each other. He also expressed belief thatthe students will preserve good image of Vietnamese people in the eyes of Thaipeople, while helping fostering friendship between the two nations.-VNA

Truong Huy San, 64, residing in Ho Chi Minh City, has been prosecuted for “abusing the rights to freedom and democracy to violate interests of the State, rights and legitimate interests of organisations and individuals” under Article 331 of the Penal Code.
