Six Vietnamese junior and senior high school students have been participating in the World Youth Rhino Summit in South Africa from September 21-23.
The trip is sponsored by the US Embassy in Vietnam and the US Consulate in Durban, South Africa.
The students, from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak, was chosen from a nation-wide art competition sponsored by WildAct Vietnam, the Humane Society, and the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.
This is the first time such an event has been held in response to the World Rhino Day, drawing more than 140 students from 20 countries. They planned to discuss measures to directly address the rhino poaching crisis and stop burgeoning wildlife crime.-VNA
